Vodafone boast some of the fastest connection speeds of any UK mobile broadband provider. Free laptop deals are currently thin on the ground with Vodafone's mobile broadband deals, however, that looks set to change over the next couple of months.

As I‘ve mentioned, Vodafone mobile broadband is the fastest of all the different competitors in the UK. While you will never get to the maximum speed of 7.2Mbps, this is double the connection speed of many of the other networks and hence you’ll nearly always get a faster connection. If you’re a business user or are going to be downloading lots of files then this is the network for you.
Another advantage to Vodafone mobile broadband is that they allow you to roam in over 100 different countries. Again this is very useful for the business user but also for people who travel regularly.
Pricing of Vodafone Mobile Broadband
The prices of the Vodafone mobile broadband packages reflect the fact that they are the fastest network. For example you can get 5GB of data allowance for £25 at a speed of 7.2Mbps. If you are worried about the faster speeds then the chances are you are going to be downloading large files and hence you’ll want to go for one of the bigger data allowance and more expensive options.
If you think that you’ll only use your laptop on the internet every once in a while then it may be cheaper for you to go for a pay as you go option. This means that you’ll have to buy the USB dongle yourself but only pay for the data you use.

Vodafone mobile broadband comes with a free USB modem for most of the packages. It is easy to use and install although this is the same for all the different networks. In most cases you should be online within a few minutes of first plugging in the modem. The modem requires Windows Vista, XP or a Mac with OS X Panther 10 or higher. If you have Windows 7 then you should make sure that the dongle or modem you receive is compatible.

If you are looking for the fastest mobile broadband connection around then Vodafone is the one for you. While other networks have started to offer faster speeds Vodafone still remains the quickest at the moment although that may change quickly.
However, if you’re looking for a mobile broadband network to use only on social networking sites and to browse the internet then you may not need the extra speed. In this case it is probably worth going for one of the cheaper networks that have a reliable connection and greater coverage than Vodafone such as 3.
